9:00 am - 10:00 am 1 LU Ethics | What has Ethics got to do with it?– the why and how this subject is essential today

This presentation will explore the relationship between the artistry and skill of architecture, and the moral and intellectual virtues that enable an architect (and, more broadly, any artistic or skilled person) to live well and to excel in their work.

10:00 am - 10:30 am | Exhibitor Interaction

10:30 am - 12:00 pm 1.5 LU | UNL College of Architecture - Students

The UNL Architecture students will present undergraduate and graduate design projects completed in 4th year DSGN410 Collaborate Design studio and M.Arch final year Design-Thesis. In DSGN410, students from Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, and possibly other disciplines from outside the College come together to work on critical issues that transcend the purview of a single design discipline. The 4th year collaborative design studio engages interdisciplinary teams of 4th year students in real-world design problems and issues. At the Master Level, the design thesis offers students the ability to conceive and execute an independent architectural investigation in their final year of the M.Arch program. Design Thesis investigations are instrumental in their role for future professional development and may also act as springboards for further academic pursuit.

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm | Lunch + Prize Drawing

1:00 pm - 2:00 pm 1 LU | Urban Sketching and the Art of Seeing - Hands-on Exercise

As each phase is completed, alongside our partnership with the City of Kearney, we will open a world of educational and environmental opportunities to help the public understand and appreciate the beauty and healthful value to society of each of the plant groupings contained in the botanical gardens.  We will have a botanical garden that is accessible to all our goal is to be inclusive, educational, inspirational, recreational, intergenerational and amazing!
